Our Story & Values

Built on 30 Years of Showing Up

When a project's timeline shifts, equipment breaks down, or conditions change overnight, you need a partner who's been there before. Since 1994, we've been that partner – delivering clean, safe equipment and fuel services to job sites across Calgary and Southern Alberta, and standing behind every piece of gear that leaves our yard.

How We Started

In 1994, Keith Beggs bought his first truck and started showing up to job sites across Calgary and Southern Alberta. He quickly learned that in this business, your reputation is everything – and it’s built one job at a time, one customer at a time.

As the business grew, so did the team – people who shared the same approach: show up prepared, communicate honestly, and stand behind the work.

Thirty years later, we’ve grown from that single truck and a couple of employees to a full fleet of propane, diesel, crane and delivery trucks and 60 employees, but the foundation hasn’t changed. It’s still built on relationships, reliability, and doing right by the people we work with.

Our values guide how we work

Especially when things don’t go as planned.

Respect comes first

For our customers, our coworkers, and the communities we serve. We believe strong working relationships are built on fairness, professionalism, and trust.

Quality without compromise

Our equipment must be clean and safe. Our fuelling practices must be responsible. Our service must add value, not create additional work or risk.

Commitment you can count on

We show up on time, communicate clearly, and follow through on what we promise – even when challenges arise.

Pride in the work

The projects we support help shape where people live, work, and gather. We take pride in contributing to that work and in how we represent ourselves on every site.

Responsibility to our community

We’re responsible not only to our customers, but to the industries and communities we serve. That means operating safely, respecting regulations, and acting as responsible stewards of the resources we rely on. We support the communities where we live and work, and we’re building a company that’s strong and sustainable for the long term – by investing in our people, our equipment, and our processes.

Local ownership. Real accountability.

We’re proud to be one of the longest-running, independently owned rental and fuelling companies in the region. That independence matters – it means decisions are made here, relationships are built over time, and accountability doesn’t get passed off to a head office. We stay close to the work, the people, and the communities we serve – and we believe that shows in how we operate every day.

How We Work

Reliability doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built into our standards, our processes, and our expectations of ourselves.

That means:

  • Equipment that’s inspected, maintained, and ready to perform
  • Deliveries coordinated to real project schedules
  • Service that prioritizes safety and efficiency
  • Accountability when things don’t go as planned

We believe trust is earned through consistency – by doing the right thing repeatedly, not occasionally.

Looking Ahead

New West Equipment continues to evolve, but our focus remains the same: to be a dependable partner that customers can rely on, project after project.

When we operate with respect, professionalism, and pride, everyone benefits – our customers, our communities, and the company we’re building for the long term.
